About

“Nature is not a place to visit, it is home.” – Gary Snyder

The outdoors has always been a place of refuge for me. From afternoons spent messing around in a small patch of woods as a city kid, through years at overnight summer camp… to a career protecting and stewarding beautiful landscapes across Massachusetts. I believe that who we are is a product of where we are. And we are at our best when we have nature and beautiful landscapes to sustain us.

When I am out photographing in nature – whether on the beach, in the woods, or at the park — I seek to capture both what I see and what I feel in the moment. Even our most ordinary landscapes contain extraordinary diversity and beauty when viewed through the lens.

Time stands still as I play with light and color, moving my camera across a scene as an artist moves a brush. I often use long exposures combined with creative camera movements to abstract a landscape – emphasizing color, light, and movement – and reducing nature to its raw, emotional elements.

These moments of connection with the natural world both calm and exhilarate my soul.
